This day 2 years ago is when Yuri-ism debuted to the world. We’ve come a long way since then, as we’re now also celebrating the 250th release on this blog as well. Will we make it to release #1000!?!?
I want to personally thank all the readers for helping us get this far. Two years worth of yuri may have passed, but we’re still just as ambitious as we were when we first started. From day one, I have always wanted this group to be for people who truly loved yuri and wanted to give back to the community. Sometimes scanlation can be stressful, but I have never once considered this work, it’s always been fun and entertaining to me. To see others share my vision and support us has been amazing.
How much has Yuri-ism grown? When we first started it was just me (Chansu) and Nandeyanen. We’ve slowly added a few more staff members, but we’ve always stayed a relatively small group. These people have been not only my colleagues but my friends as well. How much has the site grown? Exponentially, if you’re curious to see how the number of page views has grown since the start, you can click here. The reader also receives over a quarter million pageviews a month now as well. Maybe we’re doing something right, or maybe yuri really is just becoming that popular. The months before Yuri-ism started felt like a dark age to me. I actually had planned to start Yuri-ism sooner than we actually did, but we felt there may not be enough yuri to work on to justify a full time blog. The amount of yuri that was scanned 2 to 3 years ago was very minimal. Are we entering the golden age of yuri? Or has the best yet to come?
We did a survey not too awfully long ago, so I won’t do another one so soon. I also won’t do another batch torrent until release #300. But I know people like getting the chance to tell me what’s on their mind, tell me what their favorite release was, or the one they thought was complete shit. Or maybe you just want to ask or say something completely weird. Anyway, you can use this input box to send me any feedback or stuff you want to say to me and the rest of the staff. I’ll respond to the important and funny ones publicly later.

Nothing to say besides congratulations on another big milestone passed. Hard to believe it’s been two years already, seems like just the other day when yuriproject got founded after years of piecemeal efforts on /u/, following the start up of yuri-ism from l4k etc. Glad myself and many others could donate to this and we all really appreciate all the effort you’ve put in.
Per your question, yeah the yuri scene has absolutely improved dramatically even in just the last few years. I can still remember at the very very start of /u/ when there was barely anything, we’d rabidly follow even the most minor subtext and fan stuff. So much was still a few big classics like Sailor Moon. Now it’s to the stage of actual entire anime seasons with it as a prominent direct part. Here’s to looking forward to another few years!

Congratulations on two years! Thanks for all the hard work & I’m glad it’s more fun than work for the team. Hmm, I recall not being amazed at the beginning because Dynasty was more active, & well, not reading as much manga or doujinshi. Nowadays, both groups & others have a special place for me, even though I’m reading more of every genre. The golden age or more questions definitely make me wonder as well.

Happy Birthday and thank you for your contribution to the yuri community 🙂 After following you for so long, I’m glad to see you still going strong. Before your group was born, there were some other groups which were translating and scanlating yuri works, but now most of them are dead or not as active as before. Wings of yuri is a good example of such groups. Since my focus on yuri was awaken around 8-9 years ago. Yuri works were present even though they were pretty hard to find. Like for other people, your group and some other yuri focus groups both past and present as well as yuri games, have a very special place in my heart. Thank you so much!

Congratulation for three years (I know I’m late) But wow it’s been three years now and Yuri-ism is improving a lot.
I remembered three years ago the first time I visited your site is to read KyouSaya. I always wanted to read KyouSaya doujins and you were the only one who published them. I remembered I keep visiting your site to see if there is a new KyouSaya doujin or not every single day XD I’m a biggest fan of KyouSaya. And then later I started enjoy on HibiKana and NaoRei. I really loved them all and continued visit your site to read other different doujins. It’s just Yuri-ism always have the best doujins. Yuri-ism knows which one is good or which one is bad. I also read some in Dynasty Reader but Yuri-ism is still the best because it have so many good stories that I really enjoy. Dynasty Reader have some bad books. That is why Yuri-ism is really popular.
I’m 100% pretty sure that, from the beginning in 2012 everybody visited Yuri-ism and Yuri-ism slowly became popular is all because it’s thanked to Puella Magi Madoka Magica 🙂 Anyway, congratulation again!
