Release 441: Food Girls 6 (Pudding)

Soft and jiggly,
quivering at the gentlest touch,
you know you just want to sink your teeth in it…
What am I talking about? Pudding, of course.
Get your mind out of the gutter!

P.S. There are some pictures down below of how it looks like if you make it yourself, courtesy of our cleaner Ringo!

Ringo’s thoughts on this month’s dish:
For the caramel, definitely don’t start on high heat. Start on like a 5 or 6 on conventional stovetops, maybe even lower for gas stovetops. Also i didn’t have a steamer so i made a little setup using a wide pan and a dishtowel. Basically keep the lid on and let it simmer without boiling for about 15-20 minutes, should turn out fine. The towel is there to keep the cups from taking direct heat from the pan, which would burn the caramel bottoms.

    • In the previous chapters (which Yuri-ism also scanlated), it’s explained that they are technically sisters but not blood-related. Sachi’s father re-married, so she’s her stepsister.

        • Even that seems a bit of a stretch. If I am reading the use of ‘couple’ correctly in both posts, you seem to imply that they have romantic feelings for one another. To this point that has not been borne out.

It might make for a more interesting story, but we’re all waiting on where this goes, if it does, in fact, go any further than “new sisters who like cooking and bonding over food.” Nande and Almond probably know, assuming they have been able to get their hands on the raws as of yet, but they are too good to us to spoil it even if they know.

    • Next you’ll tell me you didn’t know you could make stock without stock cubes.

Y’all need to watch some more Chef John.
